COJ is turning 18 this February and we are celebrating!

We've prepared a series of activities to celebrate the school's coming of age.

This year, the COJ community will celebrate by sharing our blessings. The Preshool started  with a meaningful outreach with the children cared for by the Sisters Handmaids of Charity last February 13 while the Grade School will have theirs with the lolos and lolas of Kanlungan ni Maria on February 20. Let them know that God loves them and that they have not been forgotten.

We will also have our Family Recollection on February 27, where students and parents have their sessions separately. This has become the springboard for Pathways COJ to invite participants to the Choices seminar and prayer meetings, with an increasing number of families joining each year.

From Feb 15 - 19, we'll have the School Spirit Week. The COJ community will play a little dress up.

February 15 (Monday) - FEARLESS FORECAST MONDAY
Come in what you think you'd be 18 years from now. That's 2033! Will you still be in school or a professional by then? In sports, perhaps? Working in an office, a bank, a hospital, in a school? The choices are as limitless as the kind of leader God wants you to become!

February 16 (Tuesday) - BLUEming TUESDAY
'Tis the day to come in the school colors. They come in 3 shades, if you did not know. But we would be more than OK to see other variations of blue.

February 17 (Wednesday) - WACKY WEDNESDAY
Who says that you cannot mix polka dots and stripes?! On Wacky Wednesday, dare to be as creative as the unique creation God made you! Come in mix-matched shoes or socks or wear your clothes inside out (or upside down)!

February 18 ( Thursday) - THROWBACK THURSDAY
The 60's, 70's, 80's will make a reappearance on this day. Travel back in time when bell bottoms were all the fashion... or bright neons.... or chucky bling-blings! Dress in the era of way back when.... Then ask your parents and grandparents why they dressed that way :-)

February 19 (Friday) - DRESS TO IMPRESS FRIDAY
It's our big day so dress to the nines! There's only one person to impress and that's HIM. Aptly so, there will be a Thanksgiving Mass on this day, so watch those hemlines, girls! :-)

But wait.... there's more!

Friday is the day we break bread for our annual pan de sal breakfast. Also, the GS Student Council and PTA will announce the winners of their cake raffle in the morning as well.

Market! Market! Bring a little pocket money for some shopping, too! The grades 4 to 8 will sell different wares and goodies from 10am to 12 noon.

The weeklong celebration will culminate with a Thanksgiving Mass on Friday, Feb 19, 2016 at 8:00am followed by the Service Award and Recognition of employees and our annual pan de sal breakfast and fellowship.

Please join us on Friday, February 19 at 8:00am as we celebrate our thanksgiving mass for what the Lord has given us throughout these 18 years.

Trouble Understanding the Mass? Here’s a Simple Explanation

The Mass is the sacrifice of Christ. He offered himself once and forever on the cross. It is the Center of our Christian life and the thanks offering that we present to God for His great love toward us. It is not another sacrifice. It is not a repetition. It is the same sacrifice of Jesus that is present. It is a re-presentation of Calvary, memorial,  and application of the merits of Christ. The Mass has two parts: the liturgy of the word (after asking for forgiveness of sins) and the liturgy of the Eucharist, which is an offering to the Father by Jesus and by us, because we are also sons of God. To take advantage of the great spiritual fruits that God gives us through the Eucharistic Celebration, we should know it, understand the gestures and symbols, and participate in it with reverence. Here we have the first installment of a very good explanation that will help you to better participate in this sacrifice.  1.) Introductory Rites:      Entrance Song:...
